Imogen worked for her entire life as a portrait photographer - taking images of everyone from well-known personalities to young children on their annual trip to see Imogen and have their picture taken.

Some of these photographs were taken while Imogen worked as a portrait photographer, often capturing moments that she later printed for herself. Imogen occationally made very playful and experimental work based on these negatives.

It is intersting to note that without a formal studio, Imogen took portraits of people at her home, in their own spaces or often, outside.
